So this is real different from my usual posts, but this is something I've wanted to write about for awhile.

In this post I'm going to cover why I believe Garmadon is really mischaracterized in the fandom; of course, it's just my opinion, but I wanna give people different views, yk? I have really strong feelings about this topic so...I imagine this post will be extremely long.

If you have any requests for Ninjago characters you'd want me to do essays on like this lmk and I'll definitely try and get to it...I'll probably do one on Zane at some point.

Interesting read, but I dont think you can say people are mischaracterizing garmadon when your first point goes against canon. I think if people prefer canon evidence over your headcanons, that should be counted as a correct characterization.

Yes, you're right, but I brought the point into the matter because it's not completely disproven by canon, i think i just explained my headcanon a bit too much and made it confusing

Basically what i was trying to say was that, even though my headcanon about it awakening his oni side isnt proven by canon, it *is* proven by canon that he wasn't completely corrupted by the great devourer because he shows capacity to care throughout the show even before and after the sensei garmadon arc, hence why i don't think that he and sensei garmadon can be considered seperate people and why the only thing that changed was the way that garmadon viewed himself...if that,, makes sense, sorry it's hard to put my thoughts into words

And anyways, that was only one of my points, just cause one of my four points was bad doesn't mean im wrong, but i understand where you're coming from

I'm not saying the point was bad or that your headcanons are wrong, I'm just saying its wrong to call other's interpretations mischaracterizations. That's the only part I have issue with; your headcanons are fine, its just that Garmadon being corrupted & "turned evil" by the venom is also supported by canon, therefore people who go by that interpretation arent mischaracterizing him. Same with the fight with Lloyd in s8 being 100% under his control and it being his choice to nearly kill his son; thats a valid interpretation, even if yours is different.

Im sorry if i came off as though i was trying to say that other’s interpretations were wrong or as though i was trying to disprove them, i was mostly trying to share my interpretation and give a different view on Garmadon’s character, when i go back to edit I’ll change my word choice in the introduction
